Maureen FitzSimons's achievements when she was a teenager in America (which is known as Maureen O'Hara today) would certainly put her in the child-prodigy category. The traits she displayed were normal for an Irish-born child surrounded by talented parents and a loving, supportive family. Maureen entered this loving sanctuary located in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th of 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons was an accomplished contralto. Charles FitzSimons owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer team in Ireland. He also owned the Shamrock Rovers soccer club and a Dublin business. Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons complete this wonderful family. Maureen enjoyed playing sports as a kid and excelled at sports. Her ability to perform was the perfect match for her love of sport. This is why she received almost all of the Feis Awards for dramatic and acting in her country of birth. At the age of 14 she enrolled in at the Abbey Theater to follow her aspirations and pursue studies in classical theatre and operatic vocals.
